Proxy - Web Interception Proxy App Reviews

15 Customer Reviews:

When developing Apps that communicate with web components, it’s super-useful to have this tool. • I use it to debug the HTTPS communication with the server while I write new code. • I use it to extract data for my unit tests to make sure the existing code won’t break.

Could not get this app to do anything. At no point did it detect a single HTTP request. When I attempted to download the companion app I was met by a "404 Not Found” page. I attempted to reconfigure the proxy address, and even manually set the system proxy. Nothing worked. I can start the Charles free-trial and capture HTTP traffic immediately and without configuration.

JSON rendering is not working on the response view. My JSON data is parsed and displayed as PLIST. Aside from that, it’s a must-have app for debugging your requests! I use it daily while developing my mobile apps that connect to some sort of API.

I was searching for a good alternative to the ugly non-appe-like Charlses. Proxy offers a nive an clean interface which invites to use it a lot. It feels confortable to use. Unfortunately many features do not work. The highlighting and the infpector pane do not do anything at all. Also the filters are not activatable unless the left pane is really wide. Hopefilly it’ll get an update. If everything would work, I’d give 6+ Stars.

I tried this app out just a few days after its initial release, and I was and am quite pleased with it, but the support was what earned it the 5 stars. As is to be expected in an initial release, I noticed a small compatibility issue and reported it. Within the same day, I recieved a response informing me that the issue had been fixed immediately and would be reflected in the next update in a week’s time. In addition, their support team offered me a temporary workaroud for the issue in the meantime. The only other issue I had with the software was that it currently lacks documentation or a help file. After inquiring about this, I was told that documentation would be provided soon. I was able to use the app without need of documentation, however. Similar software found outside of the app store can cost many times the price of this app (I won’t name names) and (in my opinion) do not offer enough extra functionality to justify the price… but I digress… Anyways, bottom line is that this is a solid App that does what it promises with room to grow and what seems like a devoted and responsive developer. The price point and support earn it 5 stars in my opinion.

This seems like a good concept, but it’s missing pretty critical features like configurable filters, breakpoints, etc. The UI is an improvement over Charles, but if you’re doing any serious HTTP/HTTPS based debugging, you’ll quickly miss the features provided by Charles. I’m hopful that features will be added to start to come close to parity. Until then, I’d recommend a pass.

I haven’t really used it yet, but I have a few feature requests so far. 1) Add preference to enable/disable server certfiicate checking (in the case the server has a selfsigned/invalid certificate). 2) When you hover over the icons in the top left, show tooltips.

This app is just what I needed to see my entire network. just install the current CA to all devices in your network and monitor every request and encrypted post in plain text.

UI is non-intuitive and just as ugly as Charles. There is no way to save traffic logs to a text file, which I would think would be a basic feature. Fail.

sec_error_unknown_issuer This error in every browser, tried every manual was provided in documentation and none worked. Tried manually disabling the SSL cert protection still not helping. So since very one is switching to HTTPS this tool was waste fo money for me…. COuld of just used MITM same concept and it is FREE while this one is a pay and doe snot work properly. Value of this product untill SSL is fixed, $0.

At work on my PC, I use Charles and on rare cases WireShark. So, Im experienced with other tools. This tool is ok. It needs just a little more polishing to get another star from me. Disappointed in the help, and would like to have seen some form of push button auto configure browsers. Even if it had these other options, I think it is a little over priced.

First thing I tried was the play button. Within the first second I see an error message misspelling failure as faulure. Then I went into the settings to change the listening port. It says if you change the port you need to restart the application, so I click the restart application… nothing happens. The restart button doesn’t work. Within 10 seconds I found out this is a crap application.
